To configure your Internet Explorer for optimum use with
Paragon MLS please follow the following steps. Please read the directions
carefully in order to prevent applying incorrectly configured settings to your
Internet Browser.
You will need to have administrative access to the
computer to perform these functions. If you do not have Administrative access
to the computer please see your office administrator about proper office
procedures in dealing with Information Technology Issue.

recommend setting this between 300-500.
You many now click OK and
this window will close returning to the previous window.
|

|

*.fnismls.com and select Add. If you

If the check box in the Proxy Server area is checked you
may want to consider contacting your Office Administrator before changing
anything in this section. Your computer may need these settings in order to
connect to the Internet.
|

|
Step 5 – The Advanced Tab
|
|
Go back to the top of the window and select the
Advanced tab across the top.
Now use the scroll bar and pull it about half way down
the page until you find a heading called HTTP 1.1 Settings.
The HTTP 1.1 is just a marker so we are going to ignore what is checked.
Look to see what comes after the HTTP 1.1 settings and
find out what the next section is.
You could have one of three different cases.
|

|
|
Case 1 - Java (Sun)
If you have this section you will need to
uncheck the box next to Use JRE applet.
Now check to see if the next item is Microsoft VM or
Multimedia. If you have Multimedia please go to Case 3 else proceed to Case 2.
|
 |
|
Case 2 – Microsoft VM
If you have the Microsoft VM you will need to check
Java Console Enabled (Requires Restart). The other two boxes can
remain unchecked.
While this does say requires restart it does not mean
restart your computer. What they want you to do is to restart Internet
Explorer. Since Internet Explorer is not open, there is nothing we need to do.
|
 |
|
Case 3 – Multimedia
If Multimedia is the next item on the list
under HTTP 1.1 setting then it appears that you do not have Java installed on
your computer. We will address that in the next section, for right now lets
finish the Internet Properties.
Now that Internet Explorer is configured for use with
Paragon MLS you should left click on Apply then on
OK. This will close the Internet Properties window.
What we have done is to give Paragon MLS the ability to
make use of lower security setting while still protecting your computer when
you are on the internet.
|

|
Step 6 – Printer Margin Setting
|
|
Next, we will set our print margins.
To do this open Internet Explorer as you normally do
when accessing Paragon. Once Internet Explorer is open, you will notice there
is a menu at the very top. Left click on File then
select Page Setup from the drop down menu.
|

|
|
The Page Setup window will open. In the bottom right
hand corner of the page you will find the settings for the margins.
Set the top, left, and right margins to 0.25.
Set the bottom margin to 0.5.
Once that is done select OK
and the window will close.
|
 |
Step 7 – Install Java
|
|
To download the Microsoft
Virtual Machine (Java) we will first connect to the Internet go to
our open Internet Explorer and type the Fidelity Home page address into the
Address bar of Internet Explorer. Once that is done press the enter key on your
keyboard. The Fidelity Home Page should load.

|
|
On the right is a blue menu. Left click on the
Support and Resources option. You will see a new menu appear under
that option. Now select Program Downloads.
On the web page you will see a section labeled
Categories. Select the option called Microsoft Applications.
|

|
| When you do, the list of options will
change. You should now see MS JVM (Java Virtual Machine).
Select this option. |

|
| When you select this option you will be
presented with a list of files, or documents, that can be downloaded. Select
Java Virtual Machine Build 3809 by left clicking on the menu option. |

|
| When you select this option you should be
presented with a File Download – Security Warning dialog box containing three
options. Select the Save option. |

|
|
When you select the save option a new window will appear
called Save As. You will notice a list of icons on the left side. Select the
Desktop Icon, and then select the Save button
located in the lower right hand side of the window.
You are now downloading the file. When the file is
finished you may be prompted to run the file. You may do so.
|

|
|
If you are not prompted to run the file close Internet
Explorer and locate MSJAVX3809.EXE on your
desktop. When you find the file double click on the icon.
The file may also be called MSJAV86.EXE
|

|
| A new window will appear called Open File –
Security Warning. You will find a Button called Run.
Left click on the button to begin the install process.
|

|
| Another window will appear. Select
Yes.
|

|
| This will take you to the License Agreement
page. Again select Yes |

|
| The install will begin and should take a
few moments. When the install is done, a new window will appear advising you
that the installation is finished. Select OK to
this window. |

|
|
After selecting OK a window will appear
informing you that you must restart your computer. After insuring that all your
data has been saved and all other applications have been closed select the
YES button.

After your computer finishes rebooting the
configuration will be completed. You are now ready to log onto Paragon and
begin using the system.
